Exports of food and beverages from the European Union to China grew by 51% during the first six months of 2012, compared to the corresponding period last year, the bloc reported yesterday.
Shipments to the country were worth 1.96bn over the period, compared to 1.3bn over the January to June period last year.
Food and drink imports from China totalled 2.12bn, down 4.9% from last year, leaving a trade deficit of 152mn. That compares with a deficit of 926mn in the first half of 2011, the EU said
