Indias agriculture is at the crossroads. Hundreds of farmers who had tried chemical farming are making a come back to organic and multiple-crop farming, as on the one hand the cost for chemical farming and on the other hand the potential for organic is growing rapidly. From 2007 to 2009 the area, which is used for organic agriculture more than doubled to 1.2 million hectares and the forecast for 2012 is to reach the 2 million hectare aim.
