Ingredients
2 1/2 cups self-raising flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup coarsely grated cheddar
1 bunch chopped fresh chives
1 1/4 cups buttermilk
1 egg
Method
1. Preheat oven to 180C. Combine self-raising flour, baking powder, grated cheddar and fresh chives in a bowl.
2. Make a well in the centre. Add buttermilk and egg. Season. Mix until dough just comes together.
3. Turn onto a lightly floured surface. Knead until just smooth. Shape into a disc. Place on a lined tray. Flatten slig
